Torrijas (Eggy bread)

- Ingredients

  • 8 slices of day-old bread
  • ½ litre of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • Cinnamon

 

Method

Heat the milk with the sugar.

Soak the bread slices in the liquid and drain over a dish.

Coat the slices in beaten egg and fry in very hot oil.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, to taste. Serve hot or cold.
