Located next to the Alhambra and the neighbouring Carmen de los Mártires, the Rodríguez Acosta Foundation is housed in a charming dwelling with magnificent gardens.
The carmen arose as a result of the explicit wishes of the painter from Granada José María Rodríguez Acosta, who, upon his death, wanted to set up a cultural centre that might serve as inspiration for other artists in the city. The building dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and features different architectural styles that will impress all visitors. It is the perfect complement to a visit to the Alhambra as it affords a different view of the city with its magnificent and all-encompassing panoramas.
The foundation boasts a number of artistic collections, a number of which were donated by the family of Manuel Gómez-Moreno, whereby the complex also houses the institute bearing his name.
