Church of San Cristóbal
The first mosque transformed into a church that was built in Granada

The austere Gothic style evidences the first stage of Mudéjar style of Granada. It was the first church in the city to be built over a mosque. The Gothic vaults are accompanied by Mudéjar elements, such as the unassuming brickwork pointed arch of the façade, recalling the Mudéjar style of Seville, or the wooden trusses, installed during the extension of the temple (1540-1559).

The high tower was reduced to ruin as a result of a lightning bolt in 1577 and an earthquake in 1804.

The sides of the church were constructed using the stone slabs of Muslim tombs.
