Transfers

As Lent progresses, Granada prepares for Holy Week. The members of the brotherhoods are impatient for it to arrive but at the same time they would like time to stand still so they can enjoy Lent in full.

Enjoy these preparations with the transfer of the images from those brotherhoods that, because their own church is too far away or the doorway too difficult to negotiate, need to leave from another church for their processions. The transfers are an opportunity to see how the people of the Sacromonte neighbourhood sing and dance to their Cristo de los Gitanos (Our Lord of the Roma) and Our Lady of the Sacromonte. You can also witness the Silence in the transfer of Our Lord of Mercy along Carrera del Darro, borne on the shoulders of the Brothers dressed in mourning. Such moments make Lent a unique experience in Granada.
