On Holy Tuesday, the streets of the Albaicín neighbourhood in Granada fill with sorrow as the float of the Cristo de la Amargura (Christ of the Sorrow) leaves the church of San Juan de los Reyes. The dramatic face of the image is full of suffering as Jesus carries a Cross made of inlay on his way to Crucifixion.

His mother, Nuestra Señora de los Reyes (Our Lady of the Kings) follows him under a canopy, resigned to the fate of her Son.
