Cuesta del Rey Chico-Silla del Moro

Silla_del_Moro.JPG

This hill (Cuesta del Rey Chico) —most well known as ''Cuesta de los Chinos''— is one of the pedestrian access to Alhambra and Granada cemetery.

The funeral processions were going up through this hill, that is why the path next to the River Darro is called Paseo de los Tristes —whose literal meaning is ''walk of the sad people''.

The Silla del Moro or Castle of Santa Elena, is the fortification that watches over the city, as well as it offers a wonderful view of the Alhambra and Generalife, Albaicín and Sacromonte in the same scene. You can visit it at weekends.

Starting point: Plaza Nueva

Length: 2,900m

More natural scenery: Dehesa del Generalife
