Copperware is also frequently used to decorate the Crosses. The first important manifestations of copper craftsmanship in al-Andalus date back to the arrival of the Almoravids. Neighbours lent their copperware and made petitions to the Cross so the pots would not go empty the rest of the year, because the Cruz de Mayo (May Cross) celebration is held before the harvest.
