Chapel of the Virgen del Rosario
A little treasure hidden in the Realejo

The Chapel of Nuestra Señora del Rosario was built during the 18th century and symbolizes one of the Spanish Baroque glorious jewels. Designed as a small chapel, it represents the Battle of Lepanto by its ornaments and decoration as an allegory of the final fight and victory of good over evil. The wealthy of marble in varied colours gets mixed with the wall paintings and the mirror reflection along the glimmering lights, creating a unique ambiance.

A fascinating place designed for housing the image of the co-patron virgin of Granada: Nuestra Señora del Rosario.

The Chapel consists of four rooms: the hall of Lepanto; the hall of Our Lady of the Inmaculada; the antecamarín, the hall preceding the Lady Chapel and the hall of the Queen.
