CajaGranada Museum
IMPORTANT: CLOSED IN AUGUSTA new interactive museum to learn about the history of Andalusia

The building is the work of the architect Alberto Campo Baeza, who is also the author of the Caja Granada cube. Taking inspiration from the penguin pool in London Zoo and the floor plan of the Palace of Charles V, the architect has created a rectangular floor plan with an elliptical courtyard featuring two pure white intertwined spirals.

It houses the offices of the Caja Granada cultural centre and the Memory of Andalusia Museum, which incorporates new technologies to enable visitors to see, touch, hear and feel Andalusia.

It also contains the Isidoro Máiquez Theatre, wherein the entire seating area can be drawn back; the Plaza de las Culturas, an outdoor space for daytime and summer activities; and the Pantalla Building, featuring numerous rooms to serve as workshops and a restaurant on the top floor that affords spectacular views of the surround meadowlands.
